Give a Sheet
The coronavirus pandemic is a public health crisis without precedent in living memory, which is challenging our collective capacity to respond. And it’s fine if the whole world rushes on toilet paper. But let’s make sure we give a sheet along the way.
What’s the principle of GIVE-A-SHEET? GIVE-A-SHEET is a worldwide call for the creative community to unite its talents in the battle against COVID-19, leveraging artists from the four corners of the world. The principle? Because toilet paper has become the new safe haven currency, there’s no reason artists shouldn’t make it their new best canvas. The initiative not only aims to raise funds to tackle the pandemic, but also aims to inspire everyone out there to hold on and stay home, with a simple little piece of art (and humour). 100% of the money collected will go towards funding the activities of the COVID-Solidarity Response Fund for WHO Which among others include: Putting in place activities to track and understand the spread of the virus;
Ensuring patients get the care they need;
Buying and ship essential supplies such as masks, gloves and protective ware for frontline workers;
Producing evidence based guidelines and advice, and make sure health workers and responders get the information and training to detect and treat affected patients;
Producing guidance for the general public and for particular groups on measures to take to prevent the spread and prevent themselves and others;
Accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.
