CarePredict founder Satish Movva upgraded their wearable to roll out automated contact tracing

According to the CDC, 8 out of 10 COVID-19-related deaths reported in the United States have been in the 65+ population. In senior living facilities the vulnerabilities of old age are combined with close-quarter living, making them prime hot spots for COVID-19.

On this Health Innovation Update, StartUp Health editor Logan Plaster catches up with Satish Movva, CEO and founder of CarePredict, while he's in the car in between tech installations. Movva has been tirelessly dedicated to upgrading senior care for decades, inspired by his own experience caring for aging parents. Along with his team, Movva created a wrist-worn wearable designed specifically for seniors that can track their every move and behavior and predict health problems before they happen. When COVID hit, Movva and his team realized that their wearable could also be used for extremely accurate contact tracing, allowing senior living facilities to quarantine affected residents when necessary without putting the whole place on lock-down.
